In case you're wondering who in the world katiejean is...let me explain. My name is Kari but I wanted something with a little more pizazz, (in my opinion) consequentially, the name "katiejean" came to be.

Katie is my maternal grandmother's nickname. It is she who inspires me each day to be creative and artistic. She is loving, witty, funny and eccentric. Whether it be sewing, decoupaging, doing paper mache, cooking, painting, drawing, knitting, or crocheting she has done it and done it well. She is the most talented artist I know and I am grateful for her influence in my life.

Jean was my paternal grandmother who handed down a legacy of appreciation for the arts, my love for birds and nature, as well as being the one of the most graceful and classiest ladies in the world. She passed away many years ago, but I will never forget the times we shared and the memory of her beauty and poise.

So in my quest to find a name suitable for my passion which is photography, I settled on "katiejean" which combines the names of two very special women in my life. May their legacies live through my life and work now and always.
